New Media Primer for Health Professionals
Recent studies conducted by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Pew Internet and American Life Project, and the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice show that:

New media tools (also known as social media) “reinforce and personalize health messages, reach new audiences, and build a communication infrastructure based on open information exchange.” 4
The Health Information Group and the MCH Library have developed this New Media Primer for Health Professionals as a reference for using social media in a public health setting.
